Through weakness He expands the Canopy of God

But He said to me, “My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed)and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness”. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! (2 Corinthians 12:9 AMPC)

It is one of the great mercies and mysteries of God, that He chooses to work through us to transform this world, and even more so when we feel so weak. And yet He does, for He loves to work through His sons and daughters on earth, by His Spirit, to expand His kingdom, and extend His canopy of protection and love.

As this verse from the word of God so clearly reveals, this work is not done in our strength, rather through His power being able to work through us. The great irony, the more we are weak in ourselves, the more He can work through us. The surrendered life the key to great power working through us.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

As we press in to the Lord, seeking His refuge and His presence, dwelling in intimacy with Christ, we enter in to His heavenly canopy, and dwell under His glory and protection. In our weakness, the strength and power of Christ rests upon, and extends over us. As we are His intercessors with Him in heavenly places, this covering extends beyond us to those people and regions we are given to watch over. He can and will use you and those who truly know Him, to extend His canopy over a region or city or nation.

So faithful intercessor do not despair about your apparent weakness, go deeper in to Him, and by His Spirit the Lord will both strengthen and empower you, and extend His presence over much more than you can imagine. A surrendered life to God is a most powerful weapon in the kingdom of God.
