The Word is the Beginning

(Prophetic Insights for the Body of Christ in 2021 and 5781)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

(John 1:1-3)

As we enter the new year of 5781, and soon 2021, the Lord births a new thing…not just a new year, rather a new era. This has come following a global reset and is about Him bringing forth things planted in the heart of His faithful for some year, and now the time has come for it to be birth. And yet, all we can do is wait for the Father’s voice to know the way, and like Abraham have faith to follow that which is first revealed, not knowing where we are going[1].

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

(Genesis 1:1-3)

In this year of the Father’s voice, we see His people gathering to His voice, and seeing new things created as God speaks forth, birthing a new future through Jesus Christ. God presence will return to His gatherings, and His church, as they faithful wait on Him.

Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.

(1 Samuel 3:21)

A new movement begins as the faithful in Christ wait and hear His voice, and listen as He speaks through each other, and from above. Traditions will fall away, as people seek first God presence and His word. And yet, this is just the beginning, and it is not an end in of itself. From here the words will be the first fruits of God’s new things, and their creative power will set us on a path of the new era that God has prepared throughout the world. These words coming not just through an elect few, but rather the priest hood of believers as the give voice to the heart of God in them.

And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Then He closed the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

(Luke 4:17-21)

As the anointing of the Word of the Lord, as imparted by the Holy Spirit, moves upon His people, Christ commissions us in to His new missions for His church, and releases His creative power and seeds that build the new era.

His Word creates the way

For God is doing a new thing, and this year 2021 (Hebrew year 5781) the first of this will be revealed by the Father’s voice – we need to wait on Him and go only when He speaks. These words will witness to His faithful for they have been brooding in many for a year or probably two.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;

(1 Peter 2:9)

God is moving, and His presence is to be sort. His presence manifested looks like Jesus on earth, and the power of the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Scriptures. This new move is about the Jesus in us being manifested as the priesthood of believers (in Him) – as you go, and gather, coming expecting Him to manifest Himself in our midst. This will be revealed as the Holy Spirit moves through us, revealing the truth of Christ (the Anointed), with the nine fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit on display. All He seeks is a humble and obedient heart, in love with Him and his neighbour, and they who have walked the road of brokenness and yet risen in to who they are is in God, sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, co-heir of Jesus.

As we gather it is important to honour the gifts in others to access them, and trust in the orchestration of the Holy Spirit. As He draws us together it is like a sort of ‘pot-luck’ or ‘bring-your-own’ dinner, where we are the food (the God given words and gifts we carry) from which others can partake. Breaking out of the old moulds and traditions in the way of ‘doing’ church and letting the Holy Spirit lead. There is structure in the waiting, and yet there is also freedom. New wineskins need freedom, not old ways. Not bound by church walls, or the structures of man, this living organism of God moves across all aspects of the kingdom, and in the highways, and byways of life.

When we come together, if He chooses to start with a word, or more, from God so be it, BUT, God may also reveal His presence in other ways – and not only after a time of worship and prayer. Those who dwell in the presence of God, seeking to abide in Him, pursuing His face, are wellsprings of the presence of God, and carry Him into our midst. Here the word He has for you, and run with it…for it will not return to Him void, but accomplish all that it was intended to do. There is power and grace in His word to complete all its purpose. And that power is available to us, the carriers of His Word.

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

(1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

All of us lead in the gift God gives us as He leads through each of us, so we should come expecting to give. Trusting God in the way He manifests the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit, know the foundation of the gathering is based on Christ as our cornerstone, and the apostles and prophets as the guiding foundations…not the pastor, teacher, or administrator. There is a diversity of gifts, so let us not expect all to move in the same ministry, and yet there is the command that all desire to prophesy, and for many to move in tongues.

Let us remember that along with the gifts[2] of the Spirit, the Father has distributed His gifts[3] amongst His children, and Jesus Christ His gifts[4] amongst the believers, and it is in the wonderous symphony of talents and abilities, the great orchestra Conductor seeks to leads us in a tune that brings transformation to the world, and beyond. So come, let us draw near to God, and learn afresh who we are in Him, coming close to His heart, and in this place His word commissions us, and renews us, for the coming age.

This is about leaders dying to old ways, and parishioners and congregations dying to theirs. Now the leaders serve, and the parishioners lead, all to the glory of God, and as if standing before Almighty God…for that is where we are. The Lord restoring balance to His house.
