Praying for Leaders

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Praying for kings and all those in authority results in peace, Godliness, holiness, salvation and a knowledge of the truth being released over my region!

When considering 'Kings AND all those in authority' be aware this includes: government, police, courts and judges, educators, business leaders, medical professionals, media, policy makers, town planners etc.

Decree, proclaim, pray, and declare into the atmosphere over your region and over your local, state, and federal government:

  • An awareness of, and desire, for the blessings and goodness of godly government and rule.

  • Repent of rebellion and rejection of Christ and His kingdom's rule and reign.

  • Repent of 'self'-government and empire building, and our love of Saul-like Commanders, and cry out for the king David's - those anointed by God, not man.

  • That evil is removed from the presence of your leaders - including worldy or wicked counsel.

  • For the government upon the shoulder of Jesus Christ to rest upon those of your shoulder like a mantle from above.

  • Humility and wisdom.

  • Your leaders would seek God, and abide in Him.

  • The Lord would establish His council/counsel

Decree a desire for the blessings of kingdom government:

  • Peace, Blessing, Health, and, Wholeness

  • Prosperity

  • Creativity, Innovation, Divine solutions to problems

  • Victory when attacked

  • Wisdom

  • Debt free

  • Favour

  • Freedom and deliverance

  • Biblical work ethic

  • Rest

  • Gainful employment

  • Godly justice system

  • Joy

  • Wealth of the nations laid at our feet

  • Violence free zone

  • Righteousness and justice

Some scriptural decrees for governmental shift:

Romans 13

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God, consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement on themselves…..rulers….are God’s servants to do us good!

Jeremiah 29:7

Seek the Peace – shalom: safety, wellness, happy, friendly, welfare, health, prosperity, peace, favour, good health, rest, wholeness – of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.

Isaiah 9:6,7

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
