Understanding the King's Canopy
Updated: Mar 26, 2020
For some of us we often find ourselves in intercession and prophecy for our town, village, or nation, and yet this place seems to be more in heaven, and not on earth. You are not alone, joining with others in the Spirit of God you form King's Jesus' Canopy of prayer.
The King’s Canopy is about the joining (possibly through facilitating/fostering), of city wide gatherings of prophetic/intercessory people who form the canopy of prayer over cities and regions…understanding that when they meet, they do so in the heavenlies with Christ.
Canopy of Life
Can you see a picture of a tree(s), representing a canopy of prayer, over cities. It is about praying and doing intercession, over city. The tree’s roots going down in to the different streams of the church…forming the King of king’s canopy (covering) over a city/region..
Coming together as the Bride of Christ across the city to pray/intercede (and do) whatever He (Jesus the King) reveals in the gatherings to Him. Perhaps calling people from the watches and gates across the city - > The King’s Canopy. Led by the Holy Spirit, and headed by Jesus Christ.
House of prayer for all nations – Is. 56:7; Matt. 21:13; Mark 11:17
Tabernacle of covering – Is. 4:6
Banner over me is love – Songs 2:4
Firmament of heavens over head – Ezek. 1:22,26
Canopy over the vestibule with palms (and angels) – Ezek. 41:25,26
Stretches out the covering – Ps. 104:2
Like a tree planted by the rivers – Ps. 1:3; Jer. 17:8
The Lord’s canopy of cloud – Job 36:29; Ps. 18:11
Tree of life (in the Garden of Eden, in the midst of paradise) – Gen. 2 & 3; Rev. 2:7; 22:2
Covering of Life
Large tree canopy – a picture of a king’s kingdom and reign.
Ezekiel 31 – Such strong tree and its canopy (an image of great kings and kingdoms – such a Egypt of old) associated with the trees in the Garden of God, Eden’s garden, and yet as they are not the Tree of Life (an image of Christ), they are vulnerable to pride – which can cause them to be cast down.
Daniel 4 – A great tree providing protection and food for man, beast, and bird, reaching the heavens, and seen to the ends of the earth. Such is the tree of Babylonia…or at least kings such as Nebuchadnezzar. However, even such a king/tree has been warned – if man seeks to take the glory for themselves, this will cause the Lord to send His watcher with his decree, and the kingdom will be cast down. If the king repents, then maybe he will continue to reign after a season of humiliation.
Note: The role of the ‘watcher’ – ‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.’ Daniel 4:17
Ps. 2; Ps. 24:2; Ps. 33; Ps. 110; Col. 1:15—18; 2:9-10; Heb. 1; Rev. 11:15 – Understood with confidence that God is Lord of all, and all things are created through Christ that He is above all, and that is reign is eternal, and with the understanding that His redemption and of the fallen creation will see that ‘the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever’!
The True Tree of Life
The King’s Canopy is the true Tree of Life:
The Tree of Life and its canopy, is true without fault, when it is the Jesus Christ the King’s kingdom. This is the tree of life.
The tree of life in the midst of the Paradise of God, and the New Jerusalem.
Brings life and healing
In the middle of the street of Paradise
Either side of the River of God, that proceeds from the throne of God, and the Lamb. (Ezek. 47:12; Rev. 22:2
He who eats from the Tree of Life lives forever (Gen. 2:9; 3:22; Rev. 2:7)
The mountain of the Lord’s house – Is. 2:1-4
Cover over every dwelling on Mount Zion. Over all the glory there will be a covering (a tabernacle) – Is. 4:2-6.
A key ministry associated with royal intercession – for His Bride, for royal governance, and for His kingly government on earth as it is in heaven. It is also about the prophetic and apostolic place of prayer for the Bride, watching from: the spiritual Joppa (a place of resurrection, awakening, and apostolic impartation – Acts 9:36-42; 10:9-16); and Mt. Carmel (place of prophetic gathering, and God’s consuming altar of worship – 1 Kings 18:19,20; 2 Kings 2:25; 4:25); over the plain of Sharon (1 Chron. 27:29) and His Bride (the Rose of Sharon – 2 Songs 1) where the inhabitants turn to the Lord (Acts 9:35), and where the excellence and glory reveal the messianic reign (Is.35:1,2).
